>USB 3.0 is relatively new, and with the newer Thunderbolt promising faster speeds (Thunderbolt is 20 times faster than USB 2.0, whereas USB 3.0 is only 10 times faster) it seems as if USB 3.0 will be short lived.

This ‘fight’ is similar to the one between Blu-ray and HD DVD, where the more expensive yet better quality Blu-ray won. Applevine predicts that the faster Thunderbolt port will start to replace the slower USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, unless USB strikes back with a 4.0! But one can only wait to be sure of the answer!
